Queste lettere erano conservate presso il Dipartimento di Matematica ed Applicazioni “Renato Caccioppoli” dell’Università di Napoli Federico II. Esse attualmente devono essere considerate disperse. Individuals and Collectivity between the Principle of noncontradiction and joint commitment

In this paper I pay attention to and reflect upon the role and the nature of the human being considered as an individual that acts in a collective dimension and thus contributes to build a social reality. What is required to talk of collectivity? Is it anything that goes beyond the interacting individuals or not? In order to talk of collectivity, do we need to talk of a plural subject as well as of collective beliefs, (as Margaret Gilbert does), or not? These are some questions that are addressed in my paper. Substanssi dualismi v. filosofinen behaviorismi

Tämän tutkimuksen tarkoituksena on tarkastella tanskalaisen filosofin Erich Klawonnin argumentteja minä-substanssin puolesta ja englantilaisen filosofin Gilbert Rylen kritiikkiä kartesiolaiselle dualismille. Klawonn argumentoi, että ruumis ja mieli ovat kaksi erillistä substanssia, fyysinen ja aineeton minä-substanssi. Hänelle minä-substanssi edustaa sellaista, jolla on kattavat piirteet. Näitä piirteitä ovat mentaalisuus, yksilöllistäminen, ajan vaikuttamattomuus ja kuolemasta selviytyminen. Gilbert Rylen argumentit edustavat kriittistä näkemystä kartesiolaiselle dualismille. Il tarantismo in Sicilia

Il testo prende in esame il complesso di materiali editi e inediti (fonti storiche e archivistiche, documenti musicali, testimonianze etnografiche) che attestano la presenza del tarantismo in Sicilia dalla metà del Seicento alla fine dell’Ottocento. Il caso siciliano viene quindi inquadrato nell’ambito dell’ampia letteratura che ruota intorno al fenomeno, a partire dal classico studio di Ernesto De Martino fino al dibattito sull’interpretazione del fenomeno fra i poli dell’esorcismo e della possessione, dovuto soprattutto all’etnomusicologo francese Gilber Rouget. Settore L-ART/08 - EtnomusicologiaThe text examines published and unpublished materials – such as historical and ethnographic sources archive records and musical documents – which testify the presence of tarantism in Sicily from mid-17th century to the end of the 19th. The Sicilian case is then considered in a wider context of contributions on the theme starting from the ‘classic’ De Martino’work up to the debate on the interpretation of the phenomenon between the poles of exorcism and possession chiefly rased by French ethnomusicologist Gilbert Rouget. The analyses is therefore expanded to the tradition of snakes bites healers (the ciaràuli) which shares with tarantism the spider symbolism and to certain kinds of religious processions characterised by frantic ‘dances’ which suggest elements of functional continuity with tarantism musical-choreutic therapy.

During the late Qing dynasty, a profound social and cultural transformation was promoted in China by an élite group of intellectuals, inspired by the works of for- eign thinkers and scholars. In this context, the contribution of the Protestant Gil- bert Reid (1857-1927) – and his Mission among the Higher Classes in China, which later become the International Institute of Shanghai – went far beyond mere proselytism, promoting the intercultural dialogue as a basis for China’s progress. Hepatotoxicity caused by mebendazole in a patient with Gilbert's syndrome

What is known and objective Mebendazole (MBZ) is a broad-spectrum antihelminthic agent of the benzimidazole type. Although MBZ has been reported to cause hepatic injury, case reports of severe hepatic injury are very rare. We report a case of severe hepatitis after administration of MBZ in a patient with Gilbert's syndrome affected by pinworms infestation. Case summary Differently from other cases of hepatitis due to MBZ reported in the scientific literature, our patient received standard doses of MBZ for a short period of time.
